Working with a Smaller Space

Four Ideas To Make Your Pool More Attractive And Functional

When you have a pool at your home, you want to be able to get the most out of your investment. This means that you may want to have a poolscape that blends in with your surroundings, adds privacy and helps you to get more use out of your pool. This can be done by doing things like adding natural plants to the design, hidden solar heating and other features. If you want to get more out of your pool area design, here are four ideas that may help you improve your pool:

1. Natural Filtration Systems In Your Pool

Natural filtration systems are becoming more common with residential pools. This is because they reduce the need for chemicals and give you a pool with clean healthy water. The filtration system can also be tied into your poolscape design. They can incorporate things like water features and aquatic plants that will help filter the water going into your pool. It will give you two things; green pool filtration and attractive plants for your pool area.

2. Rock And Stone Water Features Integrated Into Your Pool Design

Rock and stone features with water can be a great addition to any pool area. If you want to have something like a slide, cave or pool bar area, this can be done with the poolscape design. The contractor can use a combination of natural and artificial rocks to give your pool these water features. If you want to have a slide added, it can be recessed into artificial rocks that make it hidden in the landscaping design around your pool.

3. Solar Pool Heating Hidden In The Design Of Pool Landscaping

Solar heating is another great improvement that can be done to your pool. It also has the problem of usually needing to be installed near where a pool is installed in direct sunlight, which can be an unsightly addition to your poolscape. You may want to have it hidden in your poolscape. This can be done by having solar collectors installed on the back faces of stone features, or other areas that are not in plain view.  Another idea that you may want to consider is using sections of fence that have solar collectors built into them so they are not as noticeable.

4. Sound Barriers And Privacy Integration For Your Poolscapes

Sound barriers and privacy may also be a concern for your pool area, especially if you live in a busy populated area. There are many good things that can be done to give your pool area more privacy. This can include the use of privacy fences, but a fence alone may not solve problems with noise. For noise, you may want to consider using tall, dense plants like shrubs such as juniper species. Crawling vines can also be a great choice of plants for sound barriers. If you do not want plants, you may want to use a solid fence design, and use a foam insulation in the center to buffer noise.

These are some things that you may want to add to your pools cape to get more use out of your pool. About Me

Working with a Smaller Space

Growing up, I lived on an almost 100 acre property. Needless to say, I had room to roam. However, when I married my husband about 10 years ago, I moved into a subdivision. We are blessed to own more acreage than many of our neighbors, but it never feels like enough. This is a common situation for many homeowners. They don’t feel like they can own the perfect pool due to a smaller outdoor space. However, in recent years, pool manufacturers have made strides in this area. On this blog, you will learn how to order a custom pool that will fit a smaller outdoor area. Enjoy your new summer outdoor escape!
